If you look back through Batman’s history in comics, television, and film, he boasts an impressive rogues gallery. Batman may possess the most formidable enemies in all of comics, including a whole mess of underrated Batman villains. They run the gamut of personalities and oddball characteristics, making them perfect comparisons for the zodiac.
While it’s easy to peruse the local newspaper and find out your daily horoscope, determining which of Batman’s biggest villains your sign corresponds with takes a bit of effort. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up a dozen of Batman’s greatest foes to match the 12 signs of the zodiac. So, which Batman villain are you?
1. Aries (March 21 – April 19): Harley Quinn
Of all Batman’s many foes, only Harley Quinn could possibly embrace the confidence and stubborn nature often attributed to the first sign of the zodiac: Aries. Her willingness to jump headfirst into a situation is about as Aries as you can get. Plus, she’s determined to stick with Mr. J no matter what.
2. Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Poison Ivy
Loyalty is a defining attribute of a Taurus, and you won’t find a Batman rogue more loyal to those she loves than Poison Ivy is to her plants. While she certainly has her villainous goals, it is possible to get on Ivy’s good side simply by showing the proper horticultural respect.
3. Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Riddler
The Riddler loves to test his adversaries, and can adapt to any situation in which he finds himself. This ability aligns rather well with Gemini, who are adaptive and often remarkable people that enjoy puzzles. Granted, they have a somewhat changeable nature – just like a real Batman rogue.
4. Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Mr. Freeze
Mr. Freeze is driven by his love and devotion to his wife. A Cancer will do whatever is necessary to care for those close to them, and will find a way to think outside the box when presented with a difficult situation. Freeze will stop at nothing to protect his wife and return her to life, even if it means battling the Dark Knight.
5. Leo (July 23 – August 22): The Joker
The Joker is the Clown Prince of Crime, and prefers to be at the center of attention. This often draws the attention of Batman (which is presumably the villain’s intent in the first place).
Leo will almost always jump into the middle of things and make themselves a focal point. A Leo’s desire to take control of the situation with all eyes on them is exactly the sort of tendency the Joker employs in every encounter he has with the Dark Knight.
6. Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Ra’s al Ghul
A Virgo is a practical and analytical person who will find a way to accomplish whatever task lays before them, regardless of how difficult. Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins, has undertaken numerous monumental challenges – just look at his attempts to preserve his life. His longevity is a testament to his ability to devise and carry out a plan.
7. Libra (September 23 – October 22): Two-Face
A Libra tends to work things out after weighing their options, and rarely jumps into a situation unprepared. The villainous Harvey Dent, AKA Two-Face, employs a simple decision-making tool whenever he needs to make a call: his two-faced coin. He lets the fates decide, and will always follow the results of the coin flip.
8. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Deadshot
Just like a Scorpio, Deadshot uses his skills and resourcefulness to get through any situation. Get on Deadshot’s bad side, though, and you’ll suffer the consequences.
A Scorpio’s drive and determination usually allows them to come out on top. They’ll always find a way to win with little difficulty.
9. Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Catwoman
Catwoman has more in common with the astrological sign Sagittarius than with any other. Her explosive personality and love of excitement make her a perfect candidate for the sign.
A Sagittarius has an idealistic view of the world, but also enjoys the surprises of life. Like Catwoman, a Sagittarius will zip off in search of adventure whenever a new travel opportunity presents itself.
10. Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): Penguin
Like a Capricorn, the Penguin has a particular love for the classics. Penguin won’t sit idly by waiting for things to come his way; he will go out and do whatever he needs to accomplish his goals – even at the risk of his own safety.
Capricorns are effective leaders and so is the Penguin, but while most people born under the sign can be relied upon, you can only rely on Penguin to do what’s in his best interest.
11. Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Scarecrow
The Scarecrow’s greatest asset is accessing emotion. He shares this trait with people born under the sign of Aquarius, though he specializes in fear.
Scarecrow prefers to go it alone, but will team up with other villains from time-to-time. As an efficient problem-solver, he fits the Aquarius sign as easily as he inflicts fear upon his enemies.
12. Pisces (February 19 – March 20): Clayface
Because he worked as an actor prior to taking on the role of Clayface, Basil Karlo’s love of the arts and incredible ambitions adhere closer to Pisces than any other sign in the Zodiac. Plus, he’s a shape shifter – a pretty literal interpretation of Pisces’s mutable qualities.
