The Uchiha clan is among the strongest clans in the Naruto-verse, and for that reason they’re among the most feared and despised.. They’re best known for their kekkai genkai, the Sharingan Eye, which has basic abilities like copying other ninja’s techniques, tracking chakra, and performing genjutsu. The eye can also evolve into a more powerful form called the Mangekyo, which bestows abilities like Susano-o, Amaterasu, and more. The strongest members of the clan usually have the advanced form of their signature eye, and some have powers that extend far beyond that. But even those who aren’t on Madara, Sasuke, or Itachi’s level can still fight using Fire Release, bukijutsu, genjutsu, and plenty of other moves.
Most clan members draw their strength from a genetic connection, but a few members have married into the clan – or in one case, arbitrarily declared themselves a member with no one’s permission but his own.
9. Sarada Uchiha
Combining her mother’s fine chakra control and intelligence with her father’s extreme strength and dojutsu, Sarada Uchiha is already strong as heck, and has the potential to get much stronger. Right now, she use Wind, Fire, Lightning and Yin Release techniques, including the Great Fireball Technique, Chidori, and Wind Release: Gale Palm. She sometimes fights using lightning infused shuriken, or simply fights with her fists. She’s still developing her Sharingan, but it’s advanced to the point where she can copy jutsu from others and track microscopic things like viruses.
Besides battle techniques, she’s also learning medical ninjutsu – her mother’s specialty.
8. Fugaku Uchiha
Once the leader of the Uchiha clan, Fugaku Uchiha was a key figure in the coup that the clan was planning prior to their demise at his son Itachi’s hands. He was one of the few clan members to successfully awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, a fact which he hid from his family. He believed that his eye would be strong enough to control the Nine Tailed Fox.
Besides his dojutsu, he could create the second-largest Great Fireball of anybody else in the clan, and he excelled at using a shuriken.
7. Izuna Uchiha
Izuna was Madara’s brother, and while the two were alive, they were considered the strongest ninja in the clan’s history. Like most Uchiha, he could use fire moves like the Great Fireball Technique. He was also a master of kenjutsu, displaying the unusual ability to fight backhanded.
He and Madara were the first members of their clan to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. Izuna would ultimately give his eyes to Madara, allowing his brother to unlock the clan’s ultimate dojutsu, the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
6. Sasuke Uchiha
When Naruto began, Sasuke Uchiha was an angry kid with a lot of potential. Since then, he’s achieved nearly godlike power. After achieving the starter kit powers of the Uchiha clan and learning moves like Chidori from Kakashi, he sought greater strength by training under Orochimaru and receiving the Cursed Seal.
Once he developed an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, he gained access to a plethora of techniques, including Amaterasu, Susano-o, all without having to worry about the regular Mangekyo’s side effects. After he got a Rinnegan, he gained access to the Six Paths Techniques, and learned Space Time Ninjutsu. No wonder he’s just about the only character who can keep up with Naruto.
5. Indra Otsutsuki
Indra Otsutsuki is the original member of the Uchiha clan. As Hagoromo’s older, supposedly more talented son, he was expecting to inherit his father’s teachings. However, that was given to his brother Ashura instead, mainly due to Indra’s arrogance and difficulties with understanding the feelings of others.
But personality aside, he was strong as hell. He didn’t just master ninjutsu, he literally invented it from his father’s Ninshu. He created moves like the Clone Technique and the Body Replacement Technique, which would become cornerstone moves for thousands of other ninja. He possessed the Mangekyo Sharingan, which he would ultimately pass on to the generations that would come after him. Less dramatic but still impressive – he also excelled at taijutsu and kenjutsu.
4. Shisui Uchiha
Shisui Uchiha was one of Itachi’s closest friends. Aside from a burning desire to maintain peace at all costs, the two had another thing in common: strength.
Shisui was one of the few members of the clan who was able to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. With it, he could use all of the eye’s standard techniques, as well as a unique ability that’s among the strongest genjutsu in the whole series – Kotoamatsukami. This allowed him to persuade targets to believe whatever he wanted them to believe while leaving no trace that he’d done any sort of manipulation at all.
As impressive as that is, it’s far from his only ability. He’s also known for the Body Flicker Technique, which let him move so quickly that he looked like he was teleporting. Plus he was proficient in multiple nature release techniques, and several kenjutsu moves.
3. Itachi Uchiha
Powerful enough to annihilate nearly every living member of his clan, Itachi Uchiha is among the strongest Uchiha of the modern era. He entered Anbu at only eleven years old, making him the youngest person to do so in Konoha history. By twelve, he was an Anbu captain with dark and heavy responsibilities. After taking down his family, he joined the Akatsuki.
His powers were extensive and wide-ranging. Using his Mangekyo Sharingan, he could create an immensely powerful Susano-o which wielded both the Yata Mirror and the Totsuka blade, two of the strongest weapons in the series. He could also use Tsukuyomi, a genjutsu that compresses time and causes hallucinations. He could summon crows, use Fire, Water, Wind, Yin, and Yang Release, and absolutely wail on his opponents using bukijutsu.
He could do all of this despite the fact that he was suffering from an unnamed terminal illness. It’s not clear whether it was caused by the Mangekyo’s inevitable physical deterioration or something else, but either way he was regularly coughing up blood by the time he fought Sasuke.
2. Obito Uchiha
When the series begins, Obito Uchiha is struggling with the basics of being a ninja. But after a terrible accident leaves half of his body crushed, he’s rescued by his ancestor Madara. Madara nurses him back to health by attaching Zetsu plant matter to his body, and brainwashes him into thinking the world is a horrible place that can only be saved by plunging it into infinite genjutsu. After watching his best friend eliminate his other best friend, his Mangekyo Sharingan awakens, and he becomes a force to be reckoned with.
The Mangekyo grants him multiple standard abilities, as well as one special ability, Kamui, which lets him warp into a personal dimension to escape attacks and travel from place to place. Later, he gets a Rinnegan and becomes the Ten Tail’s jinchuuriki, giving him access to Truth Seeking Balls and the ability to recreate the Sword of Nunoboko.
1. Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha is one of the strongest shinobi in Naruto history, period. Although his attitude was considered too dangerous for him to earn the title of Hokage, he was one of Konoha’s founders and was always strong enough for the distinction. Seriously, the dude has a truly stupid number of powers.
He could perform a wide range of different types of jutsu, including taijutsu, bukijutsu, ninjutsu, fuinjutsu, genjutsu, and pretty much everything else. His chakra reserves were out of control, and he could absorb sage energy without even thinking about it. After gaining the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan he was able to manifest a Susano-o that was reportedly as powerful as any Tailed Beast. He had Hashirama’s cells implanted in his body, and so he could perform Wood Release and possessed amazing regenerative abilities. He had the Rinnegan, which further amped up his powers. Once he became the Ten Tails Jinchuriki and awakened the Rinne Sharingan, he was able to use Truth Seeking Balls and Infinite Tsukuyomi.
If Black Zetsu and Kaguya hadn’t tricked him, he might very well have succeeded in his villainous plan.
