Navigating the cosmos of Rick and Morty is a wild, unpredictable adventure – one that’s surprisingly reflective of the diverse personalities drawn from the zodiac. The show’s hilarious cast of characters brings to life the traits that astrology lovers might find in their star signs, from the impulsive leadership of Aries to the eccentric genius of Aquarius. If fans squint hard enough they can spot a bit of themselves among the brilliant cast, whether it’s through Beth’s fiery determination or Jerry’s grounded search for stability.
Read on to find the Rick and Morty character that best represents your sign, along with an explanation that justifies the pick. And to the Taurus readers, we apologize in advance, but…you’re Jerry.
Aries (March 21 – April 19): Beth Smith

The first sign of the zodiac, Aries shares the same hot-headed attitude and stubborn personality as Beth Smith. Beth is the bossy head of the Smith household, and she sports a very apparent superiority complex – she is a horse surgeon, after all. At her best, she’s energetic and independent, but at her worst, she’s wildly impulsive and insecure.
Both Beth and Aries believe they’re on top of the world, and they won’t hesitate to assert their dominance. Even though they can be a self-centered whirlwind of aggression, they care deeply about their friends and family.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Jerry Smith

Known for their stubbornness, love of comfort, and resistance to change, Taureans could see a bit of themselves in Jerry’s often comedic struggles. He is usually portrayed clinging to the more conventional aspects of life, favoring stability over the chaos brought about by Rick’s interdimensional adventures. This penchant for the familiar and the routine speaks to a Taurian’s desire for security and predictability, and Jerry’s resistance to the wild, unpredictable escapades of Rick embodies a Taurus’s preference for a calmer, more controlled environment.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Mr. Goldenfold

Natural-born intellectuals, Geminis are rulers of communication and ingenuity. Seen as a sign with a split personality, a Gemini can be charming and intellectual at one moment, then distracted and reckless the next. Morty’s math teacher, Mr. Goldenfold, might just be a public school teacher on the surface, but outside the classroom, he exposes his true Gemini nature.
When Rick and Morty dive into his mind and roam around in Mr. Goldenfold’s dreams, his vivid imagination and adventurous thought process really shows. As a Gemini, spontaneous and colorful ideas come naturally.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22) – Morty Smith

Morty is known for his deep empathy and sensitivity, often displaying a level of emotional intelligence and compassion that starkly contrasts with the more detached and cynical Rick. Morty’s sensitivity is most evident when he’s thrust into the moral dilemmas of their wild sci-fi adventures, showcasing a tendency to care profoundly for others—even alien life forms they encounter. This emotional depth embodies the caring nature that Cancers are celebrated for, making connections and loyalty a central part of his character.
Morty’s strong attachment to family highlights another hallmark of the sign. No matter the chaos unfolding, he remains loyal to his parents, his sister Summer, and even Rick, despite the latter’s frequent disregard for danger or ethics. His fluctuating moods and self-doubt also paint him as a true Cancer, as he often swings from timidness in one episode to surges of confidence in another, wrestling with feelings of insecurity along these emotional tides.
Leo (July 23 – August 22): Brad
Photo: Rick and Morty/Cartoon Network
A Leo is the king of the jungle and nobody can step in their spotlight – just like no one can take attention away from Brad. The lion is always a beacon, whether it be because they’re a star player on the high school football team like Brad or the CEO of a company.
Brad loves being the center of everyone’s attention, and he won’t hesitate to pick a fight. A Leo’s arrogance and pride make them roam their territory like a predator, kicking others down when they try to steal the show (or your ex-girlfriend, Jessica).
Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Summer Smith

A Virgo would never admit it, but they’re hopelessly shallow – just like Rick and Morty’s Summer Smith. Morty’s teen sister is infatuated with the superficial – makeup, magazines, boys – and, just like a Virgo, she’s picky about what she gets out of life.
Virgos like organization and believe things in their life have to be run a very certain way for their personal happiness to be achieved. They become easily overwhelmed, eventually wading in their own self-pity. Even though they can be preachy and shallow, Virgos and Summer enjoy helping out. They’re naive, but they only want others to ultimately have the best.
Libra (September 23 – October 22): Mr. Poopybutthole
Photo: Rick and Morty/Cartoon Network
Just like Mr. Poopybutthole, everyone loves a Libra. The way Mr. Poopybutthole casually slides into the Rick and Morty universe and captivates the audience is done with the undeniable charm of a Libra.
Providing a strange dose of balance and purity to an otherwise hectic world is what Libras do best. They’re lovable and sincere, bringing their upbeat mood to any social situation. They become quickly cherished and adored by the people they encounter, and their bright energy makes them a popular personality.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Tammy Guetermann
Photo: Rick and Morty/Cartoon Network
Represented by the scorpion, a Scorpio is a secretive and sneaky critter that packs a powerful sting. Tammy Guetermann takes home the award for manipulation and deviant trickery, as she is a secret agent of the Galactic Federation. She goes to the extent of seducing Birdperson and arranging an elaborate wedding for the two of them, just so she can attempt to capture Birdperson, Rick Sanchez, and all other associated enemies of the Galactic Federation.
Like a Scorpio, she also has a sharp tongue. A Scorpio’s sarcasm and wit is unmatched – while Tammy is an excellent weapon-wielder, she’ll never miss an opportunity to strike with her words.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Mr. Meeseeks
Photo: Rick and Morty/Cartoon Network
Mr. Meeseeks is only created to serve one purpose for his creator – after that, POOF, he vanishes away into thin air. He works relentlessly to make sure his companion is satisfied, providing insight and advice to help them improve and accomplish their goals. A caring blue blob of energy and enthusiasm (unless driven over the edge), Mr. Meeseeks is a Sagittarius through and through.
A Sagittarius has a thirst for adventure, and they’re typically open for anything and everything. Mr. Meeseeks never says no to someone who needs help – he can’t! He takes in everyone’s requests with open arms and doesn’t hesitate to face a challenge.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): Birdperson

Birdperson is a stern and quiet personality. Like the cold and calculating Capricorn, he never says any more than what needs to be said, and he holds his status as an enemy of the Galactic Federation with pride – after all, getting there was no easy feat. While they might seem like elitists, it’s only because Capricorns work very hard achieve high goals.
They are industrious and family-oriented, which might explain why he is so eager to marry Tammy. Capricorns hold their close ones in high regard and are dedicated protectors of those they cherish.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Rick Sanchez

The star sign Aquarius is a flurry of eccentricity and intellect – just like the mad old scientist and co-protagonist, Rick Sanchez. A raving genius and alcohol-binging crackpot all at once, he expresses both the intellectual excellence and self-destructive nature of the water-bearing Air sign.
Rick seems to always be scheming up ways to flex his reckless nature, getting into galactic trouble wherever he goes. Thankfully, Rick and the Aquarius have sharp minds and can typically wiggle their way out of tight corners with ease. Their love for technology has them constantly tinkering with strange devices, a must-have skill for avoiding the Galactic Federation.
