Theoretically, if the events in Leave the World Behind were to take place in real life, you wouldn’t be able to even read this message. That’s because the plot in this Netflix thriller revolves around a mysterious blackout that forces a group of strangers to navigate through its consequences and strange unravellings (we’ll try not to spoil the rest). The movie is also based on the 2020 Rumaan Alam (Rich and Pretty) novel of the same name. To top if all off, Leave the World Behind also stars acting powerhouses Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Myha’la Herrold. Great acting performances in a turbulent atmosphere? Yes please.
